Primary care

At Marvan-Kroll Veterinary Clinic, primary care is at the heart of our practice. You can think of us as your pet’s ‘GP’. We are the first point of contact for all general health enquiries and the preventive care needed to keep your pet healthy.

At our clinic, we treat a wide range of companion animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits and rodents. We also have specialist expertise in the treatment of birds.

Our services:

Primary care focuses on day-to-day medical care, prevention and the treatment of common conditions. Our services include:

  • Regular health checks: During a consultation, we carry out a full examination of your pet. We check their teeth, eyes and ears, weigh them, and assess the condition of their coat, heart and lungs.
  • Vaccinations and protection: We provide tailored vaccination programmes. Based on your pet’s lifestyle, we determine what protection against infectious diseases is necessary.
  • Treatment of common illnesses: This includes consultations for symptoms such as itching, diarrhoea, vomiting, eye infections or respiratory infections. We make a diagnosis and immediately start the appropriate treatment.
  • Wound care and first aid: We treat common injuries, such as burns, bite wounds, scrapes or a torn nail, and ensure proper wound healing.
  • Preventative care against parasites: We provide tailored advice on the best treatments for fleas, ticks and worms to prevent infections and resistance.
  • Advice on nutrition and weight: A healthy weight is crucial for joints and organs. We offer guidance on weight management or specific dietary requirements.
  • General medical advice: Do you have questions about your young pet’s growth, age-related ailments or changes in behaviour? We’ll work with you and provide expert advice.

Early detection and prevention
Prevention is always better than cure. During routine check-ups, we pay particular attention to signs that you, as the owner, may not yet have noticed. These include early dental problems, minor changes in joint flexibility or slight variations in weight. By catching issues early, we can often prevent an animal from requiring more intensive care later on through simple adjustments to their care or diet.

Personal and peaceful

We believe that a visit to the vet doesn’t have to be stressful. We take plenty of time for the consultation, explain everything clearly and make sure your pet feels at ease with our familiar faces.
