Dr. Oran Marvan
Owner and Chief Veterinarian
I am a veterinary with over twenty years of professional experience, driven by a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine and animal welfare. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become a veterinary, and this calling has shaped both my career and my life. My main areas of expertise are orthopaedics in companion animals and soft tissue surgery, where I routinely perform both primary and secondary care treatments on dogs, cats and birds.
Earlier in my career, I developed my own chain of veterinary clinics, including a 24/7 emergency clinic for the Hague region. This role has given me extensive experience in emergency medicine, advanced surgery and practice management. Nowadays, I am the proud owner of this small-scale clinic, where I focus on what I love doing most: hands-on clinical work and building close relationships with clients.
Outside of work, I am a devoted family man; I have been married to my wife for eighteen years and together we have two children. Our family is completed by our Australian Shepherd, Uri, two Sacred Burmese cats and a chinchilla. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, spending time by the sea and motorcycling to maintain the right balance and energy.
Dr. Simona Marvan
Veterinarian, practice manager
I grew up in a family where spending time in nature and looking after animals was a natural part of everyday life. From a young age, I decided to follow my dream and study veterinary medicine at university. After graduating, I went on to do a PhD, during which I spent several years conducting research and writing a thesis. It was during this time that I met my husband, Oran Marvan. Together, we embarked on a wonderful professional and personal journey.
Today, we share not only a passion for our profession, but also a happy family life with our two children, who share our love for animals and nature. Our family is made complete by our pets: our dog Uri, our cats Timo and Beri, and our chinchilla Nizi.
At the clinic, I mainly focus on the behind-the-scenes work. I handle the administration and ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently within the practice.
Dr. Natasja Ruijgrok
Veterinarian
A love of animals was instilled in me from a very young age, and as a child I spent every day looking after our dog, cats and rabbits. Whether it was a paw that needed tending or a rabbit with an abscess, I was always ready to help. It was therefore no surprise that I went on to study veterinary medicine in Utrecht, where I officially graduated in 2013.
After spending some time in the north-east of the Netherlands, I have been working happily alongside Oran Marvan and his team since 2016. I initially started at the clinics in The Hague, but later moved to the Marvan-Kroll Veterinary Clinic in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk. I enjoy the variety and the sense of commitment within this close-knit team every day.
Outside of my work as a veterinary, I am a mother of three and live with my husband in Wassenaar. Our household is brightened up by a cat and our dog Zelda, who also serves as the practice dog. In my spare time, I love getting out into nature, doing Zumba, enjoying winter sports, and savouring good food or a good book.
Daniëlle van Voskuilen
Veterinary assistant
In 2018, I made a career change to become a veterinary assistant at Dierenkliniek Marvan-Kroll, after working for many years as an office manager at a financial consultancy firm. Although this meant going back to school to get a new qualification, I haven’t regretted it for a second. It is precisely because of this step that I know how important it is to truly enjoy your work and that this profession is my true passion.
What makes my work so enjoyable is not only the animals, but also the lovely, friendly team I work with and the personal contact with clients. I grew up with rabbits, rodents and poultry, and started horse riding as a little girl. I bring that deep love for animals with me to the clinic every day so I can provide the best possible care.
At home, I lovingly care for my own cats and horses. As well as my passion for animals, in my spare time I’m a keen runner and enjoy cycling on my road bike. So there’s always plenty to do, but my focus is always on the welfare of the animals that visit our clinic.
Esmee
Veterinary assistant
Even as a little girl, I was mad about animals, which wasn’t really surprising given that we always had dogs and cats at home. At a young age, I decided that I wanted to work with animals when I grew up, which led me to train as a veterinary assistant. During the third year of my studies, I started an internship with dr. Marvan in The Hague, and I’ve been here ever since.
Caring for animals and helping patients get better really turned out to be my passion; for me, nothing is too much trouble and I’m not afraid of anything. In 2019, together with Oran Marvan and Natasja Ruijgrok, I made the move to the clinic in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to look after your beloved pets in this familiar environment.
My love for animals doesn’t stop at the end of the working day, because at home I’m surrounded by cats and I spend every day with my horse. Whether I’m enjoying a ride in the woods or competing, I love it all. In short: my free time is entirely devoted to animals, and I look forward to seeing you at the practice.
