Our services:
We perform a wide range of procedures to treat joint and bone problems. We use various techniques, tailored to the size and condition of the patient.
- Cruciate ligament surgery (MMP technique): The Modified Maquet Procedure is a modern and effective technique for dogs with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. By slightly repositioning the tibia, we stabilise the knee without needing to replace the torn ligament. This ensures a faster recovery and is less invasive than many other methods.
- Artificial cruciate ligament (Tightrope / Flo-tether): For smaller dog breeds or cats, we often insert a very strong synthetic thread on the outside of the knee. This takes over the function of the cruciate ligament and stabilises the joint.
- Meniscus treatment: If necessary, we check the meniscus for damage and treat it where required to minimise future pain and osteoarthritis.
- Patellar luxation: We correct unstable kneecaps that slip out of their correct position. This is a common problem that, if left untreated, leads to severe wear and tear and chronic pain.
- Fracture treatment: Specialist care for broken bones using modern fixation techniques.
- Osteoarthritis and pain management: Orthopaedic conditions often lead to osteoarthritis. We focus not only on surgery, but also on long-term pain relief and joint support. With an exercise and nutrition plan, we ensure that your pet can move freely and pain-free once again.
Optimal safety in the operating theatre
All orthopaedic procedures take place in our specially equipped operating theatre. For maximum safety, we use inhalation anaesthesia (gas anaesthesia) and comprehensive monitoring equipment. Throughout the entire operation, we continuously monitor heart rate, respiratory rate, pulse and blood oxygen levels (saturation).
